OK…..the basics
Right now I am working as Service Manager at C’ville Bike & Tri in Charlottesville, VA. Occasionally, I get away to work Tech support at IronMan races for InsideOut Sports. Hopefully I can get to Ironman Canada and Panama City Beach this year, but it is hard to get away from the shop. In my spare time I play with my camera.
A little about my background..
Bought a Shogun 600 in 1985 at Staunton Bicycle in Staunton, VA….and rode the hell out of it. Raced for 18 years.
The FiordiFrutta team in New England is the desendant of my old team, SRP/Merlin.

Went back to school, got an EnviSci degree from UVA.
Ended up working for a company that set up 911 Systems for rural counties in Appalachia, making maps. After a week…I needed a camera. The shit that I saw…well, there are way too many stories.

Now I had a “point and shoot” camera and started taking pictures at races. I actually got pretty good with my Canon Powershot G3. You could manually set everything, so you could get some pretty good picture through “trial and error.” Probably 2/3s of my pictures were taken with that camera. I have only owned an SLR for 14 months.
The website first went live on October 7, 2003. Since that time we have received over 300,000 visits. If you were wondering….. the name came from a line in the movie Chasing Amy by Kevin Smith. It was something like…” I took tap lessons” followed by dancing and the comment, “That’s the Buffalo two Step” It has no significance other than it was a phrase that amused me.
Honestly, I am still surprised and flattered by the success of the site.. Thank You for the continued interest. I hope to see you at the next race.
More later…
